These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things, 2017 Favourites.

I can't quite believe that 2017 has come to an end already, it feels like this year has flown by. There has been ups & downs for me. I'm not going to talk about mental health right now because that's an entirely different post but anxiety wise I think I have a lot to be proud of. Now moving on to what you're actually here for, my 2017 Favourites. I was brutal when selecting my overall favourites as otherwise this post would have been pages and pages long. These are a few from the top tier of my favourites, my favourite favourites if you will. A lot of these products I discovered this year and I've not looked back from them but there are a few forgotten loves that I managed to rediscover. Ranging from skin care to make up to films to food there's a whole lot of good coming your way. So grab a drink & maybe a snack too, sit, read and enjoy.

Skin care:
Clean & Clear Exfoliating Daily Wash and Dual Action Moisturiser.
A forgotten love. I'll start off by saying my skin has never been awful and so far in my life I've been lucky enough not to struggle with major spots or acne. But I do every now and then get some spots. Random ones sprout up over my face from time to time but the majority of the time I was stuck with a few clusters of small ones on my forehead around my hair line that never seemed to go away. I didn't have a problem with them, it was more a minor annoyance than anything else. Not to sound like a advert or anything but since using the daily wash along side the moisturiser at least once a day the spots on my forehead completely cleared up, I was genuinely shocked as nothing I've ever used had worked as well as this. Especially considering that both of these products are on average around £3 each. I'm hailing these my miracle skin care products. I also just want to give a quick shout out to the St Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub although I haven't been using it for that long my skin has been noticeably softer and using this along side my clean & clear routine my skin has never looked better.

Hair care:
Liz Earle Botanical Shine Nourishing Hair Oil, £18.50.
Before this year I never really used a hair oil, I didn't see the point and thought putting oil on my hair would make it greasy and boy was I wrong. I haven't been using this for that long maybe just a couple of months but the fact that it's in my favourites should say something. With it's blend of Kalahari Melon oil, Coconut oil and Radish Seed oil it conditions and protects against heat damage, leaves hair with a luminous shine and makes it super soft. I don't 100% know for sure but I also noticed that my hair seemed to be lasting longer between washes.

Make up:
Maybelline The Falsies Push up Drama Waterproof Mascara, £7.99.
I have probably the shortest straightest eyelashes of anyone I know. It used to take a miracle to keep them looking long and voluminous. Until I found this mascara, completely by accident..kinda. I had first brought the non waterproof version of this mascara which I actually really didn't like, it seemed to do nothing for my lashes and gave them no volume or lift. Funnily enough my sister had accidentally brought the waterproof version so by chance we decided to swap and the result was incredible. While wearing this mascara I always get compliments and people asking if I'm wearing false lashes, the length it gives is amazing. I'm pretty sure I've not properly used any other mascara this year.

Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in #24, Evocation.
Researching this lipstick to find the price I haven't been able to find any trace of it, I don't know if that means it's been discontinued or if it's just been renamed, I'm hoping for the later as the very thought of not being able to repurchase it has made my heart break. This is quite possibly not only my favourite lipstick of 2017 but also favourite lipstick in all my 22 years on earth. I call this my 'my lips but better' shade it's a gorgeous pinky brown nude which is semi sheer but build-able and super moisturising too.

Too Faced Eye Shadow & Shadow Insurance eye primer.
Too Faced eye shadow was something I discovered this year. Obviously I had heard of the brand, but I had never tried anything before. Too Faced eye shadows in general are like no other I've tried before. The formula, pigmentation & application are out of this world. Every shade I've tried is super blend-able and long lasting and that's even without the primer. With the primer the amount of time your eye shadow stays 'fresh' looking is quite ridiculous, I'm talking all day AND night. It really is something. The palette in this photo is the Funfetti palette, my favourite shades are Funfetti, Forever Young and After Party.

Book:
The one we fell in love with by Paige Toon
I'll keep this short and sweet as I don't want to give away any spoilers. The one I fell in love with, was this book. It captured my heart and I want to read it again and again. It was such an easy read I whizzed through it in just a few hours and what an emotional roller coaster those few hours were. Without spoiling the plot I'll sum it up in one quick sentence. It's about three very different girls, Phoebe, Eliza and Rose who have one thing in common, Angus. The one they fell in love with. I definitely haven't done this book justice in describing it but if you're going to read one book in this coming year please please choose this one!

Film:
Carrie Pilby
This definitely wasn't a year of films for me, from what I can remember I don't think I watch too many new ones or maybe the ones I did watch just weren't that memorable. However one that certainly did stick out was Carrie Pilby a film based on the best selling novel. Carrie Pilby is about a Girl 'Carrie' who graduated from Harvard at the age of 18. Now 19 and living in New York, shes burdened with an over active moral compass and self-consciously aware of her uncommon intellect. She finds herself isolated, friendless, dateless and unemployed. In an attempt to bring Carrie out of her shell her psychiatrist makes her a list of goals she has to achieve by the end of the year, Including falling in love. As she attempts each goal it brings her closer to understanding that humans, like books, can't be judged by their covers.

Random:

Food & Drink:

M&S Milk Chocolate Covered Pretzels & Popping Candy Popcorn, £2.00.
When it comes to snacking I'm more of a savory kinda girl, but there's something about these that make me struggle not to eat the entire packet in one sitting.

Thomas J Fudge's Melty Cheddar Mini Wafers, £2.25.
These Cheese wafers melt in your mouth making it painfully easy to devour an entire packet in one sitting. They're incredibly moreish and vital for a cheese and wine night.

Barefoot White Zinfandel 8%, £6.50.
This is my absolute favourite rose wine and it has been for quite some time now. It's fruity with notes of peach, pineapple and strawberries. I would say it's a great summer wine, but I'm not fussy, I'll drink it all year round.

Music:
My Spotify Top 5 Artists of 2017 and my favourite song by each.
Pink- Barbies.
Sarah Close- Only You Acoustic.
Taylor Swift- Don't Blame me.
Linkin Park- One More Light.
Halsey- Sorry.
